Spiral Viscometer for Low Quantities

Torrance, CA — Seika Machinery, a provider of machinery, materials and engineering services, has introduced

its Malcom PCU-02V spiral viscome- ter. The machine has been designed to test and analyze expensive materi- als by obtaining viscosity char- acteristics from a 0.2cc sample. The viscometer’s spiral

sensor provides continuous and repeatable measurement of non- newtonian fluids. Measurement settings and data are easily available from the system’s soft- ware, with or without a PC. The company’s new spiral pump sen- sor enables the measurement of materials with high thixotropy by keeping both shear rate and time consistent during tests. Its temperature control function al- lows for accurate measurement and temperature characteristics

analysis. Contact: Seika Machinery, Inc., 3528 Torrance Boulevard,

Subminiature Micro Switch from Microprecision

Vouvry, Switzerland — Numerous control applications depend on pres- sure switches to operate reliably. To convert physical pressure differential into an electrical signal, a mechani- cal switch inside is used. Micropreci- sion Electronics offers a variation of

plications, the actuators can be cus- tom designed. In addition to its mar- ket in Switzerland, the company also manufactures its industrial micro switches and LED indicator lights in the U.S. under the name Wilbrecht

its MP500 sealed subminiature micro switch for these types of appli- cations. Compared to the standard version with an actuating force of max 2.5N, the MP520 has a lower ac- tuating force of max 1N. The differ- ential force is only about 0.2N. The switch has a differential travel of less than 0.05mm and a fast changeover time of 5ms, which is a benefit for process applications. The Series MP500 is UL 61058

and EN 61058 approved for a power rating of 250 AC/5A with an operat- ing temperature between –40 and +105°C (–40 and +221°F). Termina- tion options are PCB pins, solder lugs or cable. To adapt to special ap-
