IPTE: Easy Test Handler, EasyRouter and TopRouter
Alpharetta, GA — IPTE, a worldwide supplier of automated production equipment for the electronics and mechanics industries, now offers its Easy Test Handler (ETH), EasyRouter and TopRouter machines. The ETH handles in-circuit or
functional test as well as in-line auto- matic programming. It can be used with single-circuit boards, multiple boards or corresponding carriers for circuit boards. The test platform accommodates both one- or two-sided fixtures. The fixtures can be changed quickly and easily according to the lean production method SMED (single minute exchange of die). For parallel testing, multiple test handlers equip - ped with a bypass transport can be placed in series. The machine has a compact footprint, and integrates eas- ily into a fully-automated SMEMA- compatible test environment, and pro- vides enough space for 19in (483mm) test equipment (10HE). Its parame- ters and settings are controlled by a touchscreen. The EasyRouter and TopRouter

have been designed to set bench- marks in PCB depaneling. Both rout - ers can be equipped with a productive milling tool, which has a speed of up to 60mm/s for fast routing of PCBs from above. The TopRouter can also be equipped with a saw blade for speeds up to 200mm/s, as well as both router and saw blade. The loading and unloading of depanelers takes place manually during the separating process by means of a rotating table on which non-complex and functional workpiece holders are mounted. For safety, both routers have a light-cur- tain gate. The X and Y drive mechanisms for milling during the separation
process are equipped with precise linear motor axes. For easy program- ming of the depaneling process, the routers come with a camera-based CATS (camera-aided teaching sys-

tem). In addition, they can be pro- grammed by standard DXF codes or Gerber data, and both can be done on- or off-line. The two standard systems can
include an extensive range of tools. The EasyRouter can be equipped with a tool-break monitor system and a tool operating time-counter. Depending on the application, the user can select from a variety of vac- uum systems. A processor tool is also available on request for the applica- tion of existing CAD data to ease the programming task. In addition, the routers can come with a system for the acquisition of production and

Keystone Intros Coin Cell Battery Retainers
Astoria, NY — Keystone Electronics has introduced a new series of SMT and THM, ultra-low profile, 20mm (0.8in) coin cell battery retainers designed for high-density PCB packaging. Engineered with high-effi-
ciency spring tension to assure low contact resistance, the new design firmly secures batteries within the retainers. Rugged, lightweight, and with clearly marked polarity, the low-profile feature makes them a good choice for space sav- ing PCB applications. The coin cell retainers are
made out of phosphor bronze. They accept 2016, 2020, 2025, and 2032 coin cells from all major manufacturers. The holders are nickel-plated for durability and high-temperature soldering. The SMT versions are equipped with solder tails outside the retainer bodies to aid visual solder joint inspection. Each of the new retainers can be placed easily by both vacuum and mechanical placement systems. Keystone also provides prompt
