Reston, VA —X-COM Systems, a sub- sidiary of Bird Technologies, has introduced its IQC5255B, the latest in its IQC5000 series of RF record and playback systems. The new model expands the series’ signal-cap- ture bandwidth to 255MHz and can be used to address the performance of electronic warfare, radar and commu- nications systems. The IQC5225B combined with Keysight’s recently introduced N9040B UXA series or N9030B PXA-B series signal analyz- ers, provides an integrated and com- prehensive RF streaming solution. The system can be used for capturing, analyzing and characterizing signals over periods of seconds to days with 16 bits of resolution at carrier fre-

It can also be used for interference analysis, as well as spectrum moni- toring and management. When combined with the

Keysight UXA signal analyzer, the IQC5255B provides spurious-free dynamic range (SDFR) of 78dB in 255 MHz of bandwidth, which makes it possible to detect weak signals in the presence of stronger ones. When recording a single channel at its full bandwidth, the system can continu- ously record, store and play back more than 50 minutes of uninter- rupted IQ data in a single channel or two time-synchronous channels of 160MHz bandwidth. By adding external data storage, up to 15TB, the device will continuously record or play back a single channel for more than three hours at full bandwidth. Dual-channel record and playback makes it possible for users to note differences in timing between the two data streams to evaluate overall system performance. The computer in the UXA series


instruments can also incorporate X- COM’s Spectro-X signal analysis software and RF editor drag-and- drop graphical editing tool, as well as Keysight’s 89600B vector signal anal ysis software, and the Math - works’ MATLAB. The Spectro-X soft- ware can simultaneously analyze up to four files of any size over any range of frequencies with file align- ment of ±1 sample. This allows users to “zoom in” to signals of interest within files that contain hundreds of thousands of emitters. Among the many other features


of the device are the ability to offload signal files to the UXA series by using eight lanes of PCIe 2.0 at speeds exceeding 800Mb/s, precise event triggering with markers of time and location, pulsed signal characterization, measurement tools, linear FM, custom waveforms, and
