Sunday 09.09.2012 63 Standing Ovation for latest upgrade

Merging Technologies By David Davies

V4.0 of Merging Technologies’ Ovation live media server and sequencer enables the use of Ravenna IP technology to connect to the Horus digital audio converter. The interface can be connected to more than one Ovation system simultaneously to achieve significant flexibility in signal routing.

Other new V4.0 features include a New Show Wizard with factory- or user-defined templates, direct-to-cue CD import, and a function allowing for the automatic import of media from removable devices and/or network locations. Visitors to the Merging

Technologies stand can find out more about the benefits of full timeline synchronisation between Dataton WATCHOUT production/playback

software and Ovation cues. The result is said to be an ideal solution for any complex live playout for broadcast studio backdrops and live broadcast events. Merging is also highlighting the latest additions to Pyramix – among other features, V8.0 includes major enhancements to the automation, the mixer, MassCore, the meter bridge and the speed of the database functions – and the newest updates for Vcube focus. 8.E96

Excellence in multi-platform media apps Civolution By Heather McLean

Civolution is offering an impressive line up of digital watermarking and fingerprinting technologies here at IBC2012, taking the opportunity to exhibit the latest developments in the NexGuard suite of forensic watermarking applications. This

includes the launch of NexGuard Pre-release 2.0 that incorporates newly added technologies such as multi-layer watermarking, automated file QC and H.264 support of file embedment. NexGuard Digital Cinema, a unique image and audio forensic marking solution, has also been updated to now support the new standard of high framerates.

In addition, Civolution is showcasing its Automatic Content Recognition (ACR) solution SyncNow, a content identification and triggering service allowing realtime synchronisation of interactive content, and its Teletrax platform, a global media monitoring solution.

The new SyncNow – Smart Services complements

Civolution’s SyncNow – 2nd Screen solution that integrates on the client side and enables identification and synchronisation between broadcast, on-demand or recorded television content and interactive applications on companion devices (tablets, smartphones, laptops) to present compelling interactive user experiences including

auto-check-in. Teletrax – TV monitoring comes to IBC with major enhancements to its online portal. Through a widget-based dashboard, clients are now able to grasp at a glance the exact reach and usage of their content. The interface provides for extensive user-

customised graphical visualization and includes the OnView plug-ins for visualisation of the content itself for contextual intelligence and competitive analysis. 2.A41
