Bel has launched a new 2U audio/video monitor and de- embedder called the BM-AV2-E16SHD, featuring
Dolby decoding. The new monitor features 16 individual bargraph meters mounted alongside a high quality, 5-inch video display.
Inputs on the new unit include a pair of auto-detecting 3G/HD/SD SDI inputs (with
loopthrough) and 10 analogue audio inputs (channels one and two are provided with two summing inputs each) and 8 AES-3id pairs.

Commitment to DASH standard Espial

The latest developments in its range of solutions designed for pay-TV operators looking to manage and increase value-added services for subscribers is being showcased by Espial. The company says that it is also showing its
commitment to the rapidly emerging MPEG DASH
standard (Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP). As a participating member of the DASH Promoters Group, Espial is highlighting the capabilities of this exciting new adaptive bit-rate streaming technology through a live demonstration of the Espial MediaBase content delivery platform. During the demo, video content is streamed from the Espial MediaBase platform to multiscreen devices,
including tablets, utilising MPEG DASH as the streaming protocol.
The Espial Media Service Platform is described as a powerful head-end system that allows operators to create, introduce, manage, and monetise a multiscreen user experience. Through a range of multiscreen capabilities, including service customisation, enhanced content protection, and cross-device
bargraphs on the front panel. Selected audio channels are also provided as AES-3id and analogue outputs on the rear panel. Two versions will become available, one with Dolby decoding and a second without.
