LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT
Postgraduate Qualification in Organisational Learning and Development
You are now expected to be a strategic facilitator of change, a consultancy adviser on organisation development (OD) and learning issues, and a credible partner to the business. As a modern learning and development (L&D) professional you need to extend your own development if you are to stay ahead of the expectations of your stakeholders. Accredited by Kingston University, our work based learning Masters in Organisational L&D provides you with a career enhancing qualification whilst taking your skills and credibility to the next level.
The Masters is designed specifically for L&D managers and experienced L&D professionals like you. Many academic qualifications concentrate on theoretical review, providing some or limited application to the workplace. This prestigious qualification provides you with the opportunity to blend latest academic learning in the field of L&D with accreditation of actual work based projects.
The Masters consists of three one-year long sections:
- Post Graduate Certificate,
- Post Graduate Diploma and
- Masters.
Each section is accredited at Masters level (Qualification Credit Framework (QCF) Level 7). How far you wish to go in the programme is up to you. You can sign up for the whole Masters, or start with the Post Graduate Certificate and decide whether you wish to proceed to the Diploma at a later date. You don’t need a degree to apply, and accredited prior learning will be considered.
The Post Graduate Certificate programme takes you through the practicalities of leading a modern L&D function, the psychology of individual and organisation learning, organisational development and consultancy; and using the latest tools and techniques. The programme consists of a registration/induction day, four short residential modules (at Sunningdale), pre and post course reading and a mix of assessed work.
Price:
The Post Graduate Certificate package price from September 2010 is £4,995. If you attend a module as an individual open programme and then decide to start the qualification, this will be taken into account in offering you a reduced fee.

Psychology of Learning
Module 2
Learning and development (L&D) is an integral part of almost every initiative to improve organisational performance. To play its part well, L&D must engage individual learners and inspire them to improve the way they work.
Based on a solid foundation of research evidence, the focus is on practical techniques for improving the impact of learning through improved design and delivery. The programme draws on psychological theories of adult learning including accelerated Learning, neuro-linguistic programming (NLP), self-efficacy (an individual’s belief that they can achieve a task), and how to ensure the transfer of learning into the workplace.
This programme is a qualifying module for the new Postgraduate Qualification in Organisational L&D. It can also be attended as a stand alone module for those not working towards a qualification.
