ACCREDITED PROGRAMMES

The National School offers academic and practitioner programmes which map the Government’s HR professional standards and support the development of HR professional skills. These programmes are already accredited to CIPD or have accreditation in progress. The certificate programmes can be delivered to single organisations and, subject to certain conditions, at your premises.

CIPD MSc in HR Management and Development (Level 7)

Professional HR management is vitally important to any organisation.

This Masters degree will stretch you, developing your awareness, skills and knowledge. This will not only challenge your assumptions, but will provide you with ways to develop creative, strategic solutions to problems faced by you and your organisation.

Designed in partnership with Nottingham Trent University Business School and the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) it will appeal to both the public and private sectors. It is delivered through regular tutorials supported with flexible learning materials. Assessment is carried out via assignments, examinations and a dissertation. You will have access to the NTU online library, CIPD resources and the National School community website.

The qualification confers the ‘double badge’ of a Masters degree and graduate membership of the CIPD.

Diploma in HRM (Level 5)

This new Level 5 Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) programme is an ideal opportunity for those with a Level 3 qualification who wish to take their studies further.

The programme covers four core elements:

- developing yourself as an effective practitioner
- analysing the organisational context and the role of HR
- managing and coordinating the HR function
- improving practice in HR Management.

In addition you will undertake specific electives such as employment law.

The programme is delivered through a series of one-day tutorials in London, commencing with code DML1.

Certificate in HR Practice

Formerly Certificate in Personnel Practice

Awarded by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) this highly popular programme will appeal to both HR specialists (including those new to the role) and line managers working in a devolved HR business environment.

This Level 3 programme comprises four core and optional modules. The four core modules are:

- developing yourself as a an efective HR professional
- understanding HR and the organisational context
- recording analysing and using HR information
- understanding employment law.

Optional modules include for example reward and resourcing.

The programme is assessed through skill activities and written assignments.

Managing Redundancy and Reorganisation

This two-day programme is for HR speciliasts and line managers who will be managing redundancy and reorganisation in their workplace.

The programme covers good practice in managing change and employee relations; key aspects of employment legislation and costs implications of an ET claim; handling redundancies and reorganising the service/business.
