Developing talent for the Senior Civil Service
Designed to develop the leadership talent of civil servants (Grade 6 and 7 or equivalent) who have the drive and potential to enter the Senior Civil Service (SCS) and are either: women civil servants; BME civil servants or civil servants with a disability. The scheme will help to create an SCS leadership cadre with the richest possible mix of talent. Application through departmental nomination only.

Preparing for Top Management
Essential leadership development and support to help prepare for a role in the Senior Civil Service
For those just below Senior Civil Service (SCS) level (Grades 6 and 7 or equivalent) with the potential and drive to progress to SCS director level and beyond. This one-year programme provides a grounding in the SCS and its expectations and covers a range of leadership skills and issues. Themes explored include personal impact and effectiveness, delivery, strategic thinking, leading change and networks.
This programme is made up of four modules and a pre-programme seminar.
