We offer a wide range of open programmes for Fast Streamers and members of other development schemes. Whether you are starting out, preparing for specific knowledge or line managment roles, or looking to unlock your potential to reach the Senior Civil Service we can help you gain confidence and build your skills. You will also have the opportunity to meet, network and learn with the other potential future leaders of the Civil Service.
While the starting point for all Fast Streamers is the Fast Stream Induction (see below) you will also find throughout this brochure many programmes specifically designed for you.
Some of the training programmes are shown in the Development Path on page 62. For more information on all our programmes and services for Fast Streamers visit:

You’ll have the opportunity to question guest speakers, network with other Fast Streamers, kickstart your personal career development planning and understand what you can do for your organisation - and what you need from it. After attending this programme, you should ideally attend a government context programme: Parliament, Government and the Civil Service (PGCS) or The Government Framework (TGF) (see page 23).

Training for the Line Management of Fast Streamers
The National School offers training for those who have recently taken on line management responsibility for one or more Fast Streamers. The programme helps managers understand their roles and responsibilities as a Fast Stream line manager, brings them up-to-date with the latest developments in the Fast Stream, and helps them maximise the potential and effectiveness of Fast Streamers in their team.
This training is best delivered on-site for groups of Fast Stream managers where it can be tailored to suit the timing and needs of a department.
