to accomplish almost any type of product movement — orientation change, sort, or shift — in a very
new Glide-Line 360 can help solve complex pallet, work-piece and panel handling distribution challenges. By solving challenging traffic control sit- uations, the tool makes it possible to minimize the space needed for a lay- out in a cost-effective manner. With a single system the user can shuttle, divert, merge, sort, stack, lift and lower, transfer and turn pallets. Contact: Glide-Line, 255

Nippon Pulse Issues German Language Catalog
Radford, VA — Nippon Pulse has cre- ated a new German language catalog for the company’s stepper motor products, to help meet the needs of
German manufacturers. According to the company, it has worked together with a technical translator and its distributor for Germany, Dynetics GmbH, to create the new catalog to showcase its rotary tin-can steppers, linear steppers, synchronous motors, and both rotary and linear hybrid steppers. The catalog contains technical
specifications, information about cus- tomization options, a build-your-own evaluation testing kit, and formulas for determining the best motor for an application, all in German. Nippon Pulse also has a German edition of its Linear Shaft Motor catalog available. Contact: Nippon Pulse America,

Novatek Licenses CEVA-XM4 Imaging and Vision DSP
Mountain View, CA — CEVA, Inc.’s CEVA-XM4 intelligent vision DSP has been licensed and deployed by Novatek Microelectronics, Taiwan’s second-largest fabless IC design house for its next-generation, vision- enabled system-on-chips (SoCs), tar- geting a range of end markets that require advanced visual intelligence capabilities. Novatek’s current cam- era SoC lineup for automotive DVR and surveillance systems integrates the third-generation CEVA-MM3101 imaging and vision DSP and is now shipping in volume. By integrating CEVA-XM4 as a
dedicated vision processor in its next- generation SoC designs, Nova tek and its customers can rapidly deploy high- ly-sophisticated vision algorithms to enable advanced applications such as surveillance systems with face detec- tion and authentication, drone anti- collision systems and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). Applica tions of this type are
built on CEVA’s Deep Neural Net - work (CDNN2), a proprietary soft- ware frame work that enables deep learning tasks to run on the CEVA- XM4 and outperform GPU or CPU- based systems in terms of speed, power consumption and memory bandwidth requirements. CEVA’s imaging and vision DSPs
address the extreme processing require ments of the most sophisticat- ed computational photography and computer vision applications, such as video analytics, augmented reality and ADAS. By offloading these per- formance-intensive tasks from the CPUs and GPUs, the highly-efficient DSP dramatically reduces the power consumption of the overall system, while providing flexibility. The plat- form includes a vector processor devel- oped specifically to deal with the com- plexities of such applications and an extensive application development kit (ADK) to enable easy environment development. The ADK includes CEVA-Link,
which streamlines software develop- ment and integration, a set of advanced software development tools and a range of software products and libraries optimized for the DSP. For embedded systems targeting deep learning, the CEVA Deep Neural Network (CDNN2) real-time neural network software framework stream- lines machine learning deployment at a fraction of the power consump- tion of leading GPU-based systems.
