Austin, TX — Goepel Electronics has introduced a new line of inline AOI systems designed to be completely free of maintenance due to the wear and tear caused by friction. The MultiCam line has been developed with a minimal footprint, allowing the systems to fit in narrow spaces. Using the company’s multi-camera image acquisition module Multi - EyeS, the systems are able to inspect the placement of through-hole com- ponents at speeds of up to 300 cm2/s (46.5 in.2/s). The camera module consists of multiple cameras arranged in a
matrix-like configuration that have a combined resolution of 120 MP. The images, captured simultaneously, are merged together by a stitching algo- rithm that is tailored to the specific application. This setup eliminates the need for camera head movement, resulting in wear-free inspection. The space-saving system can be integrat- ed easily into existing manufacturing lines and is typically installed on existing conveyors. With a footprint of
