Hammond Releases Die-Cast Enclosures Sealed to IP54
Cheektowaga, NY — Hammond Manufacturing has introduced its 1590 family of die-cast enclosures — 41 different sizes in standard rectan- gular and stomp box painted variants. Stomp boxes, used commonly for
guitar effects pedals, are color-coded for easy visual identification onstage and are the housings of choice for guitar pedal manufacturers. The company offers two new
sizes, the 1590 BX2, which measures 10 x 2.8 x 1.4 in. (254 x 70 x 35 mm) and the 1590 BX, which measures 10 x 2.8 x 2.0 in. (254 x 70 x 51 mm). The
new sizes have been added to allow multiple pedals to be mounted in a single enclosure. The new models were designed
to include a radio antenna splitter, in which multiple local feeds are broken out from the incoming aerial. The enclosures also offer RFI shielding, mechanical strength and environ- mental sealing. A lap joint seals the units to
IP54, protecting them from dust and liquid, and the painted finish is only applied to the external surfaces, maintaining RFI integrity. The 1590
