Page 73 Schleuniger: Latest Wire Processing Solutions

Manchester, NH — Schleuniger has developed a range of wire processing solutions designed for the stripping, cutting, crimping, and marking of all types of wire and cable. The CoaxCenter 6000 is a fully automatic machine for the processing of micro- coaxial and coaxial cables as well as single conductor wires. The machine’s QCam 360 automatically mon- itors stripping quality, which eliminates the need for time-consuming, post-production inspection process- es. In addition, the CoaxCenter 6000 has a produc- tion output at least three times higher than manual and semiautomatic equipment and requires consid- erably less product handling. The company has also introduced its wire

harness assembly lines to the North American market. The assembly lines are typically used for high-volume wiring harness assembly in the auto- motive and appliance markets. In addition to the industry-standard rotary type assembly lines, the company offers space-saving trans- verse type and horizontal lift type assembly lines, which save valuable floor space in factories. Wire harness assembly lines can be custom-made to fit existing wiring harness boards or offered in a range of standard sizes. Both single and double sided versions are available. The company’s newest cut and

strip machine, the EcoStrip 9380, offers a complete set of features at an economical price. The system can be configured with rollers or belt trans- ports that are easily changed out by the operator. Depending on the appli- cation, the three-position design of the optional belt feeding system can be set to normal mode, roller mode,

KOA Speer Improves Resistor Lineup

Bradford, PA — KOA Speer Elec - tronics has expanded the resistance values of its 1206 size TLR2B/2BW metal plate chip current sense resis- tors. The components are available with resistances of 1 and 1.5 mW and power ratings of 0.5 and 1W. The resistors are made of a metal alloy to protect them from corrosion and heat, and have a small surface- mount metal plate with low resist- ance for current detection.

or short mode processing. The system is also com- patible with a wide variety of accessories, includ- ing prefeeding, marking, stacking, and coiling, which turn the standalone machine into a fully-

automatic processing line. Also from Schleuniger is the Mercury-4 laser

wire stripping machine, developed in collaboration with Laser Wire Solutions. The machine strips wires and cables ranging in size from 50 to 6 AWG. The machine does not require any mechanical adjustments to process different wire sizes. Using a touchscreen, the operator selects the desired stripping parameters from the programmed library. Once the operator selects the program, the machine is ready for operation. The system strips cables inserted into the supplied fixture aperture to an end stop, or through a custom fixture plate,

and a camera monitors the entire process. Contact: Schleuniger, Inc., 87 Colin Drive,

Metal plate chip current sense resistors. The resistors have a TCR of ±75

ppm with a 1 percent resistance tol- erance, an operating temperature range of –65 to +170°C (–85 to +338°F), and carry AEC-Q200 quali- fication. Used primarily for current detection, the resistors are useful for DC-DC power converters, power sup- plies, computing devices, and auto-

motive electronics. Contact: KOA Speer Electronics,
