Mathematics (continued) YEAR 11 REVISION
STEM CLUB
STEM Club runs every Thursday and is open to Year 9 students. It introduces students to the world of science, technology, engineering and mathematics, providing them with an insight into future career opportunities. It also helps to develop critical thinking and problem solving skills, which will help with future studies and even GCSEs. The club is practical based and allows students to get outside the classroom and experience STEM activities in a hands-on environment.
Sound familiar? Need some more help with your revision? Come along to the Maths block for P6 every Wednesday 3-4pm and look out for the dates of the Easter holiday revision sessions.
KEY STAGE 3 MATHS CLUB
Miss Hazeldine is continuing the Key stage 3 Maths Club. The club is open to all Key Stage 3 students and will run every Wednesday from 3 to 4. It involves applying maths to more practical activities including using probability to increase the chances of winning a game show, plotting graphs to help predict the weather and using different types of cipher to crack a historical code.
Other recent sessions included using sequences to spot art forgeries, investigating the spread of infectious diseases with maths and using prime numbers to decrypt some more modern ciphers.
