Year 11 (continued)

child through this period as attending these sessions can be one of the most useful experiences in the run up to the GCSEs for your child. Further information with regard to the specifics of the timetable will be available shortly.

CELEBRATING SUCCESS This is one of my favourite segments of the newsletter and indeed most enjoyable times as a Progress Leader. This term the students who have made the most progress are:

Ethan Devlin, Megan Davies, Caidyn Evans, Daniel Hall, Geroge Needham, Lauren Srawley, Finlay Saggers, Mollie Green, Claire May, Dylan Jones, Emily Wain, Harry Wild, Chloe Williams.

A massive well done to these students!

Also this term we have had a few celebration breakfasts for students who have had good and or massively improved attendance and or punctuality, as well as the same for those who have made progress in lessons thus far.

HOODIES Yes the Year 11 leavers hoodies have arrived and look even more enticing and comfortable than the previous ones. Students will be able to wear their leavers hoodies in school from the last week of this term and until the end of Year 11. However, students need to be reminded that this is a privilege and therefore can be revoked at anytime; furthermore, ONLY the Matravers’ 2017 leavers hoodie is permitted, no other hoodies are allowed; students caught wearing a non-Matravers leavers hoodie will have their hoodie confiscated. Please support us to support your child by encouraging them not to get themselves into a place where this privilege can be revoked.

THE PROM The prom is fast approaching and the preparations for making this an evening to remember are well under way. I would like every child in Year 11 to attend the prom as this is one of the most significant milestones of their educational life thus far. However, for your child to be invited to the prom it is imperative that they remember that their attendance and punctuality must be as good as possible as well as putting in maximum effort in all lessons and not getting themselves into situations of distraction during learning moments as well, of course, as good behaviour all around the school.
