YEAR 11
The last full term for Year 11! Yes, can you believe it? I am sure that for most of you it seems like only yesterday that your innocent little 11 Year old son or daughter began secondary school and now, they are almost at the end of it; time certainly feels like it flies.
CELEBRATION ASSEMBLY I am sure many of you are aware of the fun and frivolity that graced the Year 11 Christmas Celebration Assembly; however, for those of you who are not a few of the highlights…
s Year 11 dancers entertained us with their flexibility and rhythm. As per usual they were an absolute delight to envisage – thank you and well done.
s A plethora of musical and singing ensembles showcasing some of the crème de la crème of talent within our year group.
s A range of excellent videos and productions produced by tutor groups.
Of course, no Christmas Celebration Assembly is complete without a panto and this year the tutors surpassed themselves with their performance of Goldilocks; tutor team, thank you again for your hard work and dedication here.
received their mock exam results and then had a morning session looking at how they move forward from the position they were in with the grades they had achieved. Students explored a range of activities such as understanding the doors that were open to them with their grades and watching a series of videos made by last year’s Year 11 (current Year 12), who gave some rather sobering advice based on their own experiences as Year 11s the year prior to this. It is really important that our current Year 11 really focus now on preparations for the summer and learn the lessons of last years’ students and indeed their own mock exams results.
After the Mock Conference, a number of students were put on report to either their tutor, myself or Mr Solomons, not as a punishment but instead as a way for helping them focus on whatever their barrier to learning has been. This appears to have had a really positive effect on the students, if your child is on report please do encourage a conversation with them when you look at the report as opposed to just signing it, our children are doing so well in so many instances but at those times when they have been challenged it is imperative that they receive encouragement from angles of the spectrum. Thank you again for your continued support in this venture.
MOCK EXAMS AND MOCK CONFERENCE During the first week of term, all of Year 11 were part of the Mock Conference where each student
EASTER SCHOOL During the Easter holidays a number of teachers will be providing extra sessions for Year 11 students where they will have the opportunity for intensive support with exam preparations and or completion of coursework/controlled assessment. Please support your
