During evenings, weekends and holidays, telephone services for Barker and Detmold are diverted to MRS Sennelager.


Out of Hours (2000-0800 hrs). Medical Services are accessed by dialling your local Medical Centre number. Your call will be automatically connected to the BFG HS Out of Hours Call Centre. A specially trained nurse will be able to give advice and organise any medical care you or your family may require. A doctor and nurse team are available for emergencies in each garrison.

Hospitals St Vincenz Krankenhaus, Paderborn


Secondary health care, or hospital care, is provided by St Vincenz Krankenhaus. This is the Designated German Provider (DGP) for the Paderborn region and is under contract with a leading NHS Hospital in London.


St Vincenz Krankenhaus is used for all routine and emergency treatment. The hospital is situated on 3 sites close to the centre of town. It has a total of 563 in-patient beds and all wards have between 10 and 16 rooms, with a maximum of 3 beds per room.


Should a child under the age of 6 be admitted to a hospital in Germany, a parent can stay with the child. However, if your child is older or if no accommodation is available, please contact the HLO, as other arrangements may be possible.


Additionally to St Vincenz Krankenhaus, health care is also provided at the Karl Hansen Klinik in Bad Lippspringe, at the Brüderkrankenhaus St Josef, at two oral surgery practices and at an ophthalmology practice (emergencies only).


Summary of Services provided Haus 1: This is the main hospital site and is located virtually in the centre of Paderborn. A new wing, with reception and cafeteria, was built in 2005 and compliments the excellent facilities which cover:
