Honeypots FS1

Children who enter Honeypots FS1 in the Spring and Summer term will be allocated a space in the afternoons (for health and safety reasons we are limited to the number of children we can have in the setting in the mornings). In the following September these children will then revert to morning sessions.

Admissions

Except at King's School and John Buchan School, children are enrolled on any day of the week during the term. Parents are asked to accompany them for this occasion, bringing any workbooks or documents from their previous school. Children starting school at the beginning of the Autumn term may be enrolled during working hours on the day prior to the re-commencement of the school. Children entering John Buchan School from Garrison First Schools, King's School from John Buchan School, or Prince Rupert School from Weser School or Sir John Mogg School are not required to follow this procedure. Please note admission day for King's School is Tuesdays only by appointment. Admission day for John Buchan School is Wednesdays only by appointment.

Age Limits

In SCE schools children are eligible to start school in September, when their 5th birthday falls during the academic year 1st September to 31st August.

Schools Governance Committees

The Garrison Schools Governance Committees meet termly and are chaired by the Deputy Garrison Commander. The committees provide a forum for communication on a wide range of topics between the Service Community and the Head teachers and Staff of the Service Children’s Schools. Each school has its own Schools Governance Committee which parents are encouraged to join.

Transport

Any parent who wishes their child(ren) to use the Schools transport system (once a school place has been granted) will need to call in or phone the Bus Escort Supervisor on Mil: 79 3807 and give them the required details. They will then arrange for seating provision to be made on a particular bus. Parents are reminded that they are responsible for the behaviour of their children whilst waiting for school buses in the morning and after they disembark in the afternoon. Parents are also warned that misbehaviour on the buses will not be tolerated and, where necessary, children may be banned from using the school bus if the situation merits such action. In the case of such a ban being imposed, the parent is legally responsible for making suitable arrangements for the child to attend school.

A copy of the 'Bus Behaviour and Discipline Policy' will be given to all children.

For further information on Garrison Transport (including School Catchment areas) please see the Garrison Transport Information section of the Guide.
