A Powerful New Sponsor For Houston United

Houston United’s newly formed 2004

Date of Birth football team has enjoyed two pieces of good news recently. Firstly, it performed excellently during its fi rst ever group of league fi xtures. And secondly, as seen here, it has attracted CG Power Solutions UK Ltd to become its main sponsor, enabling it to purchase some fantastic looking kits. The red and black home kit is worn by Benjamin Vosloo and the white away kit is worn by Harris Ferguson.

The 2004 Head Coach, John McAleer, would like to extend his thanks to CG (a global company with a Hillington offi ce) for this generous sponsorship.

Louise MacDonald (20) from Houston and Alan McRae (26) originally from Arrochar and now living in Paisley, both of whom work for Renfrewshire Leisure, took part in the Gym for Heroes event on 19th July, at the Lagoon Leisure Centre.

Both of the them did a 12 hour non-stop, 3 discipline event. They each did 4 consecutive, 3 hour stints consisting of, running for 30 mins, cycling for 90 mins, and rowing for 30 mins. In the 12 hour time period they covered the equivalent of 10 marathons, a remarkable distance, and a tribute to their level of fi tness, endurance and determination to undertake the challenge and complete it covering over 260 miles in 12 hours. They raised a total of £275.00 on the day from contributions from people working out in the gym during the event, and from friends and family. Louise and Alan would like to thank everyone who helped them raise the £275.
