As we come to the end of summer our thoughts turn to Christmas which is our next big challenge.
Julie and I are planning
to give the children at Piyawat their fi rst Christmas, as we know it, and buy each of them a gift of their individual choice and give them a day they will hopefully remember for the rest of their lives. We have been busy fundraising for this and have arranged a Shopping Fair at the Kilmacolm New Community Centre on 10th September between 10am and 1pm or longer if business prevails.
British Legion Dance - Bridge of Weir
Friday 9th September. Entertainment by The Glasgow Accordion Band. Entry will be £5 from 8pm.
Fit o’ the Giggles Comedy Club
Saturday 3rd September · 8.30pm - 11.30pm. Hamishes’ Hoose, 42 Old Sneddon Street (Under Gilmour St Station), Paisley. Tel: 0141 561 7105.
It is a good time for you to start you shopping and some of the stalls will be selling jewellery, sunglasses and goggles, pakora and homemade rice pudding. ‘The Trinket Shop’ will be selling bags and scarves whilst ‘Limetree Larder’ will have such delights as homemade chocolates, jams and chutneys for you to purchase. Pat will be selling her sock monkeys, which are worth coming to see and Jackie will be selling cards, but to mention a few of the stallholders.
Maureen Todd will be in attendance with some partylite candles and accessories for you to purchase or if you want to see the full range why not book a party with her and make an evening of it with your friends and kill two birds with one stone.
The HUB (the coffee shop in the centre) will also be open should you wish to stop and have some lunch or just buy a coffee and a cake.
Phantasanja will be having a tombola and selling our wares we bought from the market from locals on our last visit to Thailand.
All the profi ts will go towards buying gifts for the children of Piyawat who are children from the Muang Tribe in the Northern Mountains of Thailand. For further information about them or any of the projects we support, please have a look at our website at
Phantasanja.webs.com
We look forward to seeing you there, as their Christmas will only be as good as your support.
