Weaver’s Cottage

Over last winter part of the roof of the Weaver’s Cottage was renewed and as part of the same programme of maintenance a large part of the wall between the cottage and its neighbour has been rebuilt. The jobs were funded by Scottish Heritage in co-operation with the National Trust for Scotland. The cottage is open from 1-5 pm every day except Wednesdays and Thursdays. The season ends on Friday 30th September. If you are holidaying at home, or have visitors to Renfrewshire, there is still time to make a visit. You will be welcome!

Picture shows Chris MacGarvie and Davie Rae working on the masonry.

Old Library Centre, Kilbarchan

The Old Library Centre is back to the Autumn programme. The classes in Computing, Yoga, Pilates, and Bridge have started however, if you are interested in any of these activities, please visit or phone the Centre to fi nd out the availability of a place.

Our programme of musical entertainment is posted on the web page www.kipcokil.com and on the Centre window. The venue has hosted many very well known artistes. The performers have expressed their pleasure and appreciation of the audience participation.

The recent window notices have created quite a lot of amusement. The noticeboard inside the Centre has many interesting posters and information.

On sale there are copies of the book ‘Old Kilbarchan’ , framed photographs of old Kilbarchan scenes and DVDs of village scenes.

Although the Centre has a number of computer experts who give a lot of much appreciated assistance in keeping the Centre’s computers up-to-date, we would appreciate the help of some younger volunteers with ideas which might attract other visitors to the Centre.

Please phone or visit if you think you can help the Centre in any way. We are open 10am- 12noon and 2pm-4pm Monday to Friday and 7.30pm- 9.30pm Monday and Wednesday evenings. Tel: 01505706070 www.kipcokil.com
