Highlights from ISE 2011 Alcons Audio showcased the latest of its industry-leading audio systems, includ- ing the CR1 ultra-compact 3-way system, the CSS3 ultra-compact digital cinema surround system and the Q-series scalable ribbon array. As a market leader in cinema sound, Alcons Audio was also invited to provide the sound system for the 3D Theatre, a new feature at the show this year, where visitors can experience the very best that the technology has to offer. APart introduced the CHAMP-3D amp, the newest model in its series of convec- tion-cooled amps. CHAMP3D is a 3-channel, fully programmable digital amp. In an ongoing effort to expand its fleet of mid-priced LED panels, Barco has devel- oped the C7 - a 7mm tile for use in a multitude of display applications where image quality is critical. The new C7 was on display at the Barco stand. Next the company announced a newly designed three-chip DLP platform for mid-sized event venues. The HDX-W14 is a 3D projector with advanced image processing, increased and easy control options, and a compact design. And finally, Barco proudly introduced its new NSL-5521 display cube for video walls and its stand-alone LDX series for control room applications. The new LED backlit LCD displays were showcased for the first time at ISE. Calibre introduced some of its new additions to the HQ View range at ISE this year. In just 12 months this range has welcomed 13 new products. For one in particular, the HQ View 520, ISE was its first showing. Also new and on display for the first time was the LED View Series, a collection of scaler-switchers. Christie showcased products from across its diverse business groups, including


dynamic signage, 3D projection and control rooms. A second stand dedicated to the event staging market demonstrated a configuration of Microtiles, alongside Christie’s much-trusted Roadster M Series transformed into digital luminaires. Crestron unveiled a range of new product innovations and developments. Amongst them was Sonnex, a multiroom audio system. Combining amplifier, matrix switcher and digital audio processor; one-wire technology Sonnex transmits 48 channels of uncompressed 24-bit HD audio long distances across a single shielded CAT5-type cable to up to 74 zones. d&b audiotechnik welcomed many visitors to the inaugural launch of its two new product series; the xS and xA-Series that comprise stand-alone and arrayable loudspeakers respectively. The xS-Series comprises seven stand-alone loudspeak- ers and three matching subwoofers and are spread over a broad range of sizes and output powers. The xA-Series comprises four loudspeakers and two matching subwoofers and are arrayable. Dataton introduced the Pick Up audio guide, an advanced MP3 player with built in FM radio to offer complete flexibility. The Pick Up is used to conduct audio tours, primarily in museums however, the company is already seeing demands for the product in other fixed installation markets. The sound content is reproduced from the Pick Up into headphones or through the device’s built in loudspeaker. Digital mixing console manufacturer DiGiCo returned to ISE alongside the brand’s Dutch distributor TM Audio. This year, as well as its flagship SD7 and mid sized SD8 desks, the entry level SD9 and the new SDRack, launched at PLASA 2010, demonstrated DiGiCo’s commitment to the install market. EAW displayed the latest ten additions to its celebrated JF Series of high-definition two-way loudspeaker systems. The newest additions to the JF Series of two- way loudspeakers include the JF8, JF10, JF26, JF29, JF56 and JF59, packing even more capability and application flexibility into the ultra-compact series. New comprehensively integrated JFNT units include JF26NT, JF29NT, JF56NT and JF59NT. EAW also offered the latest two additions to the KF Series, the KF364 and KF394, and its QX Series of loudspeakers. Elation Professional announced the launch of its innovative range of high-resolu- tion LED video panels, the Elation Pro Video (EPV) Series. The range is especially bright, compact and easy to hang, featuring pixel pitches down to 6mm, targeted
