Andrea Rabzak, Head Tennis Professional A Toronto native, Andrea Rabzak has over 25 years of coaching experience and an impressive lifetime playing career. A highly ranked


Canadian junior, Andrea played division 1 singles and doubles for Oklahoma State University and has since brought home both Canadian and Ontario singles and doubles championships and represented Canada at the Senior World Championships.


Andrea has continuously been recognized for coaching excellence and is a three time recipient of the Tennis Canada Coaching Award of Excellence. A member of the Tennis Professional Association, Andrea is a Certified Coach 3 and Club Pro 2. In addition to coaching for ORC, she is a touring coach for the Ontario Tennis Association and accompanies juniors to provincial, national and ITF events. She trains Canada’s brightest under 12 and 14 prospects at the National Tennis Centre and was the Ontario Manager for the 2009 Canada Games.


This experience has resulted in a long list of exceptional junior players, four of whom became national champions: • Brittany Wowchuk, from ages 9-17, under 16 singles and doubles champion; on scholarship at North Western University


• Monica Lalewicz, from ages 13-17, under 16 singles and doubles champion; on scholarship at Penn State University


• Carol Zhao, in 2009, under 14 singles and doubles champion • Gloria Liang, in 2010, under 14 singles champion


Currently Andrea coaches top 10 nationally ranked ORC players; Angie Sekely, Kyle Macdonald, Kim McCallum, Natasha Irani and Gloria Liang. Somehow, Andrea still finds time to coach adults and has excelled in training successful women’s competitive doubles teams. Andrea approaches the game of tennis with passion and energy, and motivates all her players to strive for success.


Certified Tennis


Alex Benyi, Head Tennis Professional


Born in Romania, Alex started playing tennis at age 9 and coached in his native country for five years prior to emigrating to Canada in 1992. Alex held a top 12 national ranking throughout his junior career.


Alex is the ORC’s Academy Leader for the Tour Squad. A member of the Tennis Professional Association and the Professional Tennis Registry he is a Tennis Canada Certified Coach 3 and Club Pro 2. He was a National Tennis Centre under 12 Coach from 2005-08, and has been a Team Ontario touring coach in indoor and outdoor competition for the past 10 years. Alex won a Tennis Canada Coaching Excellence Award in 2003.


Among the players he has coached at ORC: • Andrei Radulescu, National Champion in Canada under 18, Indoor and Outdoor Nationals, 2003


• Tania Rice, #2 in Canada, Under 18 Indoor and Outdoor National Champion in 2005 and 2006, on scholarship at Pepperdine • Monika Lalewicz, # 1 in Canada under 16 Outdoor Nationals in 2004, doubles champion in 2006; on scholarship at Georgia • Stephanie Wetmore, #2 in Canada under 18 Indoor Nationals in 2006; on scholarship at UCLA


• Nathalie Ranger, on scholarship at Seaton Hall • Ian Alafriz, #1 in Ontario High School Championships three years in a row, singles and doubles; on scholarship at Wright State


According to Alex, “If you are ready to work hard, you have come to the right guy and the right place.” His goal is to take every player, junior or adult, to their maximum potential – “whatever it takes”.
