We’re in the Get Set Network! We're really proud to have been accredited as a member of the London 2012 Get Set Network, which recognises colleges that live the values of the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The 2012 London Olympic and Paralympic Games bring really exciting opportunities to London. We're dedicated to helping our students make the most of this international showcase of excellence. We’ve created exciting facilities, courses and activities to make sure you have every opportunity to take part. In the last year our students have met - and raced against - Olympic athletes. They've had the chance to tour the Olympic Park and shape the Legacy for East London. And they’ve helped prepare food in Vancouver during the Winter Olympic Games!
Our sports and leisure students take extra qualifications to make sure they're in the best possible position to get work at the event. Construction students are getting work on the stadium.
The hospitality industry is booming in the run up to the Games, and our state-of-the-art London City Hospitality Centre makes sure that local people get the skills and qualifications to make the most of the jobs coming our way.
The world's media will descend on east London before, during and after the Games. Our media students take part in 2012-themed workshops and competitions and will be prepared to take advantage of this work and unique experience.
There has never been a more exciting time to study in Hackney!
Hackney Community College meets IoC training camp standards! Basketball, Badminton, Fencing and Table Tennis teams from across the world could be training here in the build up to the 2012 Games.
