Pre Access


Code: CPRF361 This qualification gives you the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge so that you can progress to level 3 courses e.g. an Access to Higher Education course or employment. The course consists of a range of core units that develop the following skills: literacy, numeracy, IT and study skills. You will also study a range of units in humanities subjects that help you progress to level 3 courses. Start date: 6 September 2010 End date: 8 July 2011 Duration of the course: 36 weeks Entry requirements: No formal qualifications are required, but you should have English language and maths at level 1. There is a written language and maths test as well as a College interview. Mode of attendance: Part-time (day) Possible next steps: Level 3 courses, such as an Access course. Approximate tuition fee: £1,093 to £1,367


Access courses Access courses are designed specifically as a preparation to HE study. If you have been out of education for a while, or if you didn’t take A Levels when you were younger – an Access course could be for you. It combines study skills with a broad background in your chosen subject.
