Our experienced team offers an outstanding level of counselling training. We place a strong emphasis on personal development, the core qualities of counselling, and practical skills training. Our courses are validated by organisations with national reputations for high quality training. We offer: • A 2-year progression route in counselling skills training, designed for people who do or who want to work with people in a helping role. • A 2 or 3-year route in Counselling, where you achieve a level 4 Foundation Degree in Therapeutic Counselling. Progression from this is to Year 3 of the BSc (Hons) Degree in Counselling at the University of East London.


Certificate in Introduction to Counselling Skills


(level 2) This is a valuable first step where you’ll gain a basic understanding of counselling skills to help other people. You’ll deepen your understanding of the emotional needs of yourself and others. You’ll also learn about basic interpersonal and counselling skills which are transferable to a range of voluntary and paid opportunities in the health, social care, justice or other sectors. Entry requirements: A short written application. Progression: Level 3 Access course or employment as a skilled helper Starts: September 2010, January 2011, April 2011 Ends: December 2010, March 2011, June 2011 Number of weeks: 10 Attendance: Part-time (Thursday 6-9pm) Approximate tuition fee:To be confirmed.


Intermediate Certificate in Counselling Skills


(level 2) This qualification is for people who want to learn counselling skills to help others. You'll develop your self awareness, communication skills and understanding of a helping relationship. Entry requirements: A short written application. Progression: Level 3 Access course or employment as a skilled helper Starts: October 2010 Attendance: Part-time (Monday 6-9pm) Approximate tuition fee: £155 Reduced fee: £75


Progression Certificate (level 2) This course prepares you for the level 3 Access course. Learning includes personal development, listening and communications skills, working in a group and study skills. Start date: September 2010 End date: July 2011 Duration of the course: 36 weeks Entry requirements: A written application Mode of attendance: Part-time (one day a week) Possible next steps: Level 3 Access to Higher Education (Counselling). Foundation Degree in Counselling and


Psychology (level 4) You'll consolidate and extend your understanding of yourself, of the person centred core model and comparative frameworks. You will also learn to integrate theory and practice in a workplace setting. There is a course requirement for 150 workplace supervised client hours and 10 hours’ personal therapy, in accord with accreditation requirements. Entry requirements: You will be assessed by a written application, interview and English test. Progression:Year 3 of the BSc (Hons) Degree in Counselling at the University of East London Starts: September 2010 Ends: July 2012 Number of weeks: 72 Day:Tuesday for year 1, Thursday for year 2 Approximate tuition fee: To be confirmed.
