The course information line, 020 7613 9123, is open Monday to Friday 8.30am-4.30pm.
We’re here to help you choose the right course. Our admissions and customer services team can tell you about all the courses at the College. Friendly staff will give you initial advice and guidance on the courses we offer and which are suitable for you. You can also ask about fees, nursery provision or entry requirements and other aspects of the College. They will refer you to specialist advisers if necessary. They are conveniently located at the front entrance of our Shoreditch Campus, Falkirk Street, London N1 6HQ.
To get a place on the course you want, you need to apply as soon as possible. But don’t worry, you’re not committed at this stage; you can change your mind about your course later on.
The following steps are for all courses in this guide – with the exception of our “courses for fun and recreation” which are shown on pages 16-22. For information on how to enrol on those courses, have a look at page 16.
For all other courses: Step 1
Once you’ve decided which course you’d like to study, post or hand in your completed application form to the Admissions team. The application form is in the middle of this guide and the address to return the form to is printed on it. You can also apply online at
www.hackney.ac.uk.
Step 2
We’ll invite you to an interview and/or assessment. It’s a great time to talk to your tutor to make sure it’s the right course for you. You will need to do an online or written initial assessment. Don’t worry! It’s just to get an idea of the level you’re at so we can make sure you join the right course.
Step 3 We’ll write to you to let you know if you’ve been accepted onto your chosen course (this is based on your assessment and interview) or, we’ll recommend another course that you can study. You will then be invited back to the College to complete your enrolment and get your ID card.
All courses, dates and fees are subject to change. Courses may be cancelled without prior notice as a result of funding changes or low demand. If you are in receipt of a means tested benefit there is no tuition fee on some courses, but you will need to pay a College resource fee and your exam fee. We have tried to make the information in this guide accurate but some details were still being confirmed at time of print so some of the information will change. To avoid disappointment, please confirm course availability and costs before enrolling at
www.hackney.ac.uk or 020 7613 9123.
