BTEC Diploma in Creative and Media Production


(level 3) Code: ARTF3207 This course covers the practical skills required to work in the television, video and film industries as well as core theoretical knowledge. Over the two years, you will shoot and edit your own videos using Final Cut HD to complete a range of creative and semi-professional production briefs. You will also learn the basics of 2D Animation using Flash and develop analogue SLR and digital photography techniques. Theoretical concepts in film, television, animation and still photography are studied and you will present and write critical analysis of texts you have viewed, as well as researching for and scripting your own material. Group work and professional practice is essential in gaining this qualification, as well as learning the ability to work independently and to deadlines. Industry links are made through visits and guest speakers. Code: ARTF3238 The programme combines practice and theory to develop creative skills using high specification Apple Mac computers and industry standard software. Students work in 2D and 3D graphics and animation, print design and interactive multimedia. Software used includes Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, Dreamweaver, Flash, Director, After Effects and Maya. Code: SCAF1878 On this course, you will learn about motor vehicle technology, computer studies, workshop theory and practice. Careers advice and work experience is an important part of this course. You can choose to study this as a full-time (if unemployed), part-time day (if employed in a garage) or evening option. The course also gives support in maths, communications and IT.
