Arts (level 3) Code: SPSF3234 This course runs over two years and provides an opportunity to develop real work skills in dance, acting and musical theatre, so that you can move on to a higher level qualification in this area or into the performing arts professions. Held on the Shoreditch Campus with top facilities, tutors and practising artists, it covers a broad range of musical theatre, acting and dance skills delivered through workshop and studio teaching. At the end of the first year, you can complete the Subsidiary Diploma and then progress to the Diploma in year 2. Start date: 6 September 2010 End date: 6 July 2012 Duration of the course: 72 weeks Entry requirements: 4 GCSEs at grades A-C, or BTEC First Diploma (merit); plus an audition and interview. Mode of attendance: Full-time (day) Possible next steps: Foundation Degree or employment. Approximate tuition fee: To be confirmed


Last year, HCC Performing Arts students welcomed professionals from the Royal Shakespeare Company for a week of intensive workshops at the college, culminating in a unique performance of Othello. They used song, drumming, movement and language to explore the themes and story of the play.
