Aegean raises a toast


Aegean Airlines celebrated the inauguration of its flights from/to LHR Terminal 2 with events led by their Master of Wine, designed to showcase the quality of their onboard product. The airline’s wine expert and buyer, Konstantinos Lazarakis, delivered a wine tasting opportunity to passengers and gave them bottles of wine as gifts to mark the occasion. Lazarakis said: “For the last five years


we have selected two white and two red wines, all coming from a selected region and being poured to our customers for a period of six months. We have worked with established names, but also bought from many small, family-owned wineries that produce tiny amounts of wine. "We mainly focus on our native grape


varieties but we also show some wines made from international varieties, as an easier point of introduction for the uninitiated wine drinker." The airline’s wine programme has been well received, with passengers subsequently calling the wine producers to ask where they can buy the wines. Lazarakis added: “Aegean Airlines' most important aim is to make the best Greek wines visible and relevant to everyone.” aegeanair.com

London City Airport has unveiled the world’s first Bloomberg Hub. Delivering a unique business travel


experience, the Bloomberg Hub is a media wall at the heart of the lounge. It comprises a vast, vivid digital canvas delivering essential travel information, market-moving news and analysis, relevant data, Bloomberg Television and rich promotional content. The 12 x 55-inch Ultra HD Christie screens display a mixture of curated Bloomberg content designed with the business traveller in mind, including dynamic data, market prices, news summaries, rankings, indices, weather and charts as well as topical photo stories sourced from Bloomberg Media. The equipment was in large supplied by


interactive technologies specialist Engage Production with the aim of combining cutting-edge electronic wizardry with Bloomberg’s content. The aim of the hub is to make the business traveller’s journey more productive, more efficient, and enjoyable. European regional carrier Flybe has launched a new onboard ‘Refuel’ menu that features an enhanced choice of breakfast, lunch, snacks and beverages. The range includes healthier options and produce from much-loved foodie brands and the menu changes are designed to reflect the energy and vibrancy of Flybe’s ongoing brand refresh. ‘Refuel’ has been shaped by customer


research conducted earlier this year that confirmed passengers’ desire for healthier, higher-quality products. Creating a ‘deli in the sky’ feel, with a hand-picked selection of grazing-inspired options, menu additions include a ‘Tapas Special’ comprising basil and garlic olives, chorizo, breadsticks, savoury crackers, hummus, Mediterranean vegetable paté, The Food Doctor’s couscous and lentil wholesome pot – and Pimm's! There’s also a healthy range of
