High-tech luggage tag goes global
ReboundTAG, a high-tech luggage tag, showcased by Lufthansa at the IATA AGM as a way of preventing lost luggage globally, will go global on the consumer market this year. Developed in the UK, the pioneering tags cost £24.99 and contain two RFID (radio frequency identification) microchips. The first is a permanent identifier, whilst the other takes flight details from airport microchips. ReboundTAGs are integrated with global baggage handling systems, with a barcode and number printed on them so they work in every airport in the world.

Cruise line Seabourn is enhancing its passenger experience with the launch of PressReader Offline, a customisable digital newspaper and magazine service, on its Odyssey-class ships – Seabourn Odyssey, Seabourn Sojourn and Seabourn Quest. Through this breakthrough
technology, Seabourn is offering guests complimentary, full editions of their favourite global newspapers and magazines from a selection of more than 2,500, available to download on personal iOS or Android mobile devices while in port or at sea.

gategroup develops China relationship
gategroup has taken steps to consolidate its relationship with China Aviation Investment Co. (CAIC), Ltd. The catering group, which has a joint
venture operation with CAIC called Shanghai Pudong International Airport Gate Gourmet Air Catering Co., has reduced its participating interest from 80% to 29%, meaning CAIC now holds 51% and Shanghai Airport Group Co., Ltd. 20%. gategroup ceo Andrew Gibson said:
"The closer partnership with CAIC is just 'one important step forward' in our business development strategy in China".
