Innovation still thrives IBM

A view is emerging that innovation is no longer the driver of growth it once was, with pundits pointing to declining growth in global productivity as further proof that ‘The Big Idea’ is a thing of the past.
Not so according to IBM, in its Institute for Business Value (IBV) report, ‘Insatiable Innovation: From sporadic to systemic’. The report focuses on the evolving role of innovation and its impact in today’s complex business environment. Specifically, it identifies what financially outperforming organisations are doing differently to foster innovation. How are they embracing business model innovations and how are they expanding external partnerships to facilitate more value-creating innovation? The report also outlines the steps necessary to develop a systematic innovation approach to more effectively drive growth, efficiency and financial outperformance. You can learn more about this executive report, about smarter media solutions and collect your copy of the IBV Catalogue/CD at IBM’s meeting room.

“All content in movies and TV
programmes is hard-coded with a content ID and time- stamped,” said Stuart Cleary, director of product marketing at
Akamai. “Our technology allows us to use this during playback to trigger an event that will dynamically push information, a URL perhaps or a special offer from a manufacturer, directly to a companion device in realtime, inviting or encouraging the
viewer to interact.” Additionally, Akamai has teamed up with Dolby (maker of Dolby 3D glasses free technology) to demonstrate 3D without glasses, delivered online in full HD quality.
Both demos use the Akamai
Intelligent Platform. This combines Akamai’s Sola media, Aqua Web Experience and Kona Security tools, which support end-to-end content preparation, security and delivery workflows. 6.A15
