Making the connection:

Marshall’s new Wireless HDMI Monitor System

Wireless HDMI Marshall Electronics

By David Fox A new wireless HDMI transmitter/receiver system suitable for monitoring DSLRs and other small cameras with HDMI outputs, has been introduced by Marshall. The system is available with either its V-LCD70MDW modular 7- inch camera-top monitor or its V-LCD90MDW 9-inch model.

The Wireless HDMI Monitor System delivers uncompressed video and audio with less than one millisecond delay. The director can view video feed in nearly realtime from up to 30m away (and line of sight is not necessary).

The monitors work with two available transmitters: the V- WHT-A stick transmitter plugs directly into the camera and draws power from the camera’s HDMI port; or the V-MHT-B belt pack transmitter, which can be

powered by a variety of small DSLR or camcorder batteries. Each transmitter has an HDMI 1.3 interface and supports a maximum video resolution 1080p60. There are two wireless

receiver battery mounting plates: the V-ABR for Anton- Bauer batteries or the V-VMR for V-mount batteries. A third receiver option is the VWHR, a standalone receiver that can be used with any monitor and a WHDI transmitter. 11.D20

Launching its new 4402 Video Quality Robot at IBC is Witbe. Described as a carrier-grade, rackable appliance and said to be ideal for deployment in data centres and test labs, the robot can run simultaneous tests on up to eight SD or HD devices of any type. Test engineers can thus run

more cross-platform testing in less time and, according to Witbe, dramatically accelerate their release process. Operations managers can simplify their monitoring infrastructure while gaining enlarged visibility on the quality and usability of their video services across all terminals.

“The video delivery market is moving to a world where content is accessed via

applications available on any device and over any network,” said Jean-Michel Planche, Witbe’s president and co- founder. “This creates so many combinations that it is becoming very complex to control user experiences. Testing and monitoring Quality of Experience (QoE) is the key to build trust in and enable transactions that will drive these new sources of revenues.” 4.C74

Robotic intent: The 4402 robot is said to dramatically accelerate the release process
