Q&A Martin Herrmann sales and marketing Broadcast, Spinner
Has IBC come at a good time for the electronic media industry? Yes, because more and more countries are planning the switch-off of their nationwide analogue broadcast network and due to the fact that IBC is taking place late in the year. TV and radio broadcaster visitors are looking towards new
Tools for HEVC
Tektronix By Will Strauss
HEVC capabilities have been added by Tektronix to its MTS4EA video and audio analyzer.
Marketed as the MTS4EAV7 HEVC, the enhancement allows designers and manufacturers of hardware and software video encoders, decoders and mobile video devices to develop new video products for HD mobile
video, OTT video or 4K broadcast applications that adopt HEVC. MTS4EAV7 features include: overlays for CU, PU, TU, Slice, Tile and Motion Vector over decoded picture; synchronise views support and statistics; fidelity analysis for HEVC streams; compliance analysis of HEVC elementary streams; and decode and display video from HEVC streams up to 4K resolution. Existing MTS4EA customers can purchase a software upgrade. 10.D41
products and services for 2014. Potential customers have a better forecast of investment and are planning their budget for 2014. We’re expecting many interesting meetings with more customers than last year.
What do you think are the key developments in, or threats to, your market sector at the
current time? More and more decisions about TV broadcast signal upgrade to a higher quality or functionality, like high definition and 3D television.
Why should delegates visit your stand at IBC? We offer a wide range of customisable system solutions
and components. At our booth, for example, we’re presenting our compact N+1 solutions, channel combiners and new DTV mask filters. The absolute highlight at Spinner is the world’s most powerful coaxial mask filter for DTV, with a power input of 18 kW in a compact and tuneable design. 8.B27
