Antennas arrayed for Amsterdam
Alan Dick Broadcast
By Michael Burns A new UHF Broadband Medium Power panel antenna has been introduced by Alan Dick Broadcast at IBC for Bands IV and V in all polarisations: CPOL, EPOL, HPOL and VPOL. The antenna is designed as either a side-mount or a top-mount for DTV, ISDB-T, DVB-T/H, NTSC or PAL broadcasting. The company is also
launching two broadband antennas for UHF Bands IV and V, designed as low-to-medium power solutions, with a special focus on rooftop deployment. Constructed in marine brass and aluminium and enclosed by a full cylindrical radome, the antennas allow multiple UHF channels to be transmitted at the same time. The UK-based company is also showcasing its super turnstile IV/V 470 – 860MHz antenna, a radome-enclosed unit that can be either top or side mounted on a tower for
broadband multichannel UHF applications, as well as the Java broadband log periodic FM antenna system for high gain directional applications. A UHF Panel Antenna with either elliptical or circular polarised broadband panels is on show, as well. ADBL says that both versions are engineered for digital/analogue TV and mobile video, as well as being designed for long lasting durability with stainless steel aluminium reflecting panels. 8.B99

Uruguayan pay-TV operators go over the top Conax By Ian McMurray
Uruguayan pay-TV operators Montecable and Nuevo Siglo
are deploying content security solution Conax Contego Unite and Conax Secure Clients to enable the addition of advanced over-the-top multiscreen, multi-network video and content
consumption services. The operators are in commercial deployment with security partner Conax and middleware provider Cubiware in a joint project led by system integrator Bold MSS to roll out
the new, advanced OTT broadband services. According to Conax, the Hybrid OTT solution provides the Uruguayan operators with a highly cost-efficient and unique market differentiator.
The new Conax Security platform deployed for provisioning the Hybrid DVB- C/P solution will run in simulcrypt with a legacy security platform. 1.D69
