SUMMER CAMP GUIDE 2012 ROCK CLIMBING
2nd – 6th Grade | $213/$258 | Sessions 6, 10 | Ada Harris
Learn the basic techniques of climbing in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. This camp will include an overview of the sport as well as individualized instruction in belaying, climbing equipment and climbing technique. Overview of types of rock and the difference between indoor and outdoor climbing. Overview of basic climbing equipment. Learn how to put on a harness and climb on an indoor rock wall. Build your campers confi dence in climbing skills. All gear is provided.
RUGBY - NEW!
2nd – 5th Grade | $170/$205 Sessions 7 | YMCA
This camp is designed to safely introduce young players to one of the most exciting and enjoyable sports in the world. Participants will learn about the game and its history as well as the various positions that make up a Rugby team. Coaches will conduct drills designed to teach specifi c physical skills and game situation sessions that highlight team work, physical fi tness and decision-making. Each day will feature “non-contact” rugby matches between players of similar ages and abilities and fi lm sessions showing professional matches.
SEA WORLD
2nd – 5th Grade | $253/$303 | Sessions 3, 7, 10 | Ada Harris
Travel to Sea World to spend 5 full days exploring every inch of the park! Campers will enjoy the rides and see all of the shows during this week- long marine experience. Campers will interact with every exhibit Sea World has to offer and learn all about sea life animals throughout the week! The best part of all is your camper will bring home a Sea World Fun Card to return to Sea World anytime throughout the year!
SEWING
2nd - 6th Grade | $223/$268 Sessions 4, 10 | Ada Harris
Sew your way into this introductory camp! Campers will learn the basics of sewing from sewing on a button to stitching and hemming. They’ll hem clothing, make their own pin cushion and create a plush animal to bring home. Campers will work on different disciplines of sewing every day while creating a week-long project that they’ll bring home. No experience is necessary, equipment and supplies are provided!
