FREQUESTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Will I be billed for the remaining balance of camp automatically?
You will receive a balance due reminder via email. No bills will be mailed so please ensure that your email address is up to date. Failure to receive a reminder is not a valid reason for missing payment deadlines. Campers who do not register at least three weeks prior to the start of camp will not receive a balance due reminder and are encouraged to pay for the camp in full at the time of registration.
When is the balance due for a camp?
The remaining balance for each camp is due 12 days prior to the start date of camp. Failure to pay balances will result in the deposit being forfeited and the camper’s registration being deleted.
Where can I turn in my Medical Release/ Liability waiver form?
All Medical Release/Liability Waiver forms may be dropped off at the Registration Desk during regular business hours, mailed to the Magdalena Ecke Family YMCA, emailed to
eckeinfo@ymca.org or faxed to 760.944.9329.

What if I am late picking up my child from Camp?
Children not picked up at the end of the camp day at any of our sites will be placed in our Late Parent Program. A $15 late fee will be charged for any of the first 15 minutes after the end of camp. An additional $1 per minute fee will be charged after the first 15 minutes. For example, camp pick-up ends at 3:45 pm, and a child is picked up at 4:10 pm. There would be a $25 charge.
What if my child is a few months too young to attend camp?
Camps are organized by grades versus ages. All campers must be entering the grade in the fall as listed for each camp. Regardless of grades and due to risk management guidelines, all skate campers must be at least 6 years old on the first day of camp to attend. Laser Tag campers must be 7 years old on the first day of camp. Any traveling camper must be 6 years or older.
How do I ensure my camper is in the same group as his/her friend?
Camp is an important place to make new friends and develop new relationships. Camp is designed for participants to develop new friendships with their peers and we encourage parents to support this goal. However, if you still need to ensure campers are within the same group, you may provide a written note for the Unit Leader of your camp on the first day. Camp staff will attempt to ensure your campers can be within the same groups, but groupings depend on ability and/or age and therefore these accommodations will not always be possible.
