SUMMER CAMP GUIDE 2012 HALF DAY – JR. CAKE BOSS

Join the YMCA’s hit program, Jr. Cake Boss! Campers will focus on creating magnificent desserts of all kinds and creating their own recipe books. Campers will learn the basics of working in a kitchen and the intricacies of the perfect desserts. From cakes and cookies to homemade ice cream and puddings, this camp will surely satisfy! Although some healthy options will be explored, sugar and spice and all things nice will make up this week of camp.

Sometimes we just need to let Kids be Kids and let them get really messy! In this “all things dirty and messy camp,” kids will have mud fights, play with super soakers and get filthy with Capture the Flag. Parents, get your washers and dryers ready!
HANDS ON SCIENCE
2nd - 5th Grade | $223/$268 Session 9 | YMCA
Become an actual scientist for a week! Participants will engage with all types of science from creating exploding chemistry projects to building aerodynamic structures that fly. This camp is designed to use camper’s knowledge and imagination while challenging their curiosity with all disciplines of science. They’ll make soda bottles that launch with water pressure, create all types of slime, make their own super ball and use ketchup to clean coins. This is the perfect camp for those interested in testing the limits of everything around them while having a blast!
HARRY POTTER

Join us for a week of wizardry training! Learn about magic, potions, magical recipes, puzzles, flight and crafts while living in a Harry Potter fantasyland for a week. Think you have the magic touch? HOCKEY - NEW!
2nd – 6th Grade | $220/$265 | Sessions 6 | Ada Harris
Calling all Jr. Hockey enthusiasts! This fun learning experience is for beginner to intermediate ice skaters wanting to learn some stick skills on the ice. Hockey campers will get a 30-minute instructional lesson every day covering: skating, balance, speed, stick work, control and teamwork. Lessons are followed by a 3-hour skating session led by San Diego Ice Arena staff. Ice skates, helmets and sticks are provided.
