SUMMER CAMP GUIDE 2012 BABYSITTING
6th - 8th Grade | $198/$235 Session 2, 6 | Ada Harris
Become the ultimate babysitter! Learn the skills to be confi dent when you’re babysitting and equipped in the event of an emergency. Camp covers infant/ child and adult CPR, Basic First Aid, game playing, creating simple meals and hints on how to fi nd a job. After you learn about behavior management and safety focused supervision, you’ll build your business cards and walk away certifi ed in CPR/First Aid as the best babysitter on the block!
BASEBALL
1st - 5th Grade | $178/$208 | Session 4*, 6 | YMCA
Join the YMCA in America’s favorite pastime. Campers will be introduced to the strategy, of batting and fi elding technique and supportive team play of America’s favorite pastime. YMCA camp leaders will teach the fundamentals and lead organized scrimmage. Once a week, campers will travel to batting cages to put what they have learned to the test. Baseball gloves are required. All skill levels are welcome and encouraged to enroll.

BASKETBALL

Basketball is a high energy, exciting team sport that builds character and promotes healthy exercise. This coed camp is designed for youth basketball players looking for a week fi lled with teamwork, coaching, basic skill development and fun. Camp will include basketball game time, age-specifi c drills and a variety of other basketball and camp-related activities. Court shoes are required.

Basketball breaks down into an action-packed team sport that’s full of thrills. Our sport specifi c camp
leaders will focus on respect, teamwork and responsibility as they will start each day with a ‘skill of the day’ and progress into drills and games making for an unforgettable camp experience for your young athlete. After a week of passing, shooting, dribbling and rebounding you will see why this is one of our most popular programs.
BEGINNER SURF
2nd - 7th Grade | $205/$245 | Session 2 - 4* - 11 | YMCA
Ride the waves over to the YMCA’s Surf Camp! This camp is designed for the fi rst-time or beginner surfer and the camper who loves to be in the water. Activities include surfi ng, body boarding, body surfi ng and other water games. Our goal is for each camper to stand up and ride the waves! The YMCA has a limited supply of instructional surfboards to loan. Campers may be required to share surfboards and those with their own are encouraged to bring it. All Surf Camp staff members are certifi ed as lifeguards and are experienced around the waterfront. Swamis is the designated beach for this camp
BOOK CLUB – NEW!
2nd - 4th Grade | $192/$218 Session 3 | Ada Harris
Learn to love to read! Campers at all reading levels are welcome. Every morning we will use Reader Theater, poetry, popular book series and your child’s imagination to increase their confi dence in reading and get them excited to read. This is a partnership with Esteemed Kids staff with years of teaching experience. The afternoon will be fi lled with traditional camping activities and challenges. Campers will practice reading one on one daily with qualifi ed and patient staff. Don’t let summer learning loss happen to your child!
