SUMMER CAMP GUIDE 2012 EXTREME SPORTS


6th - 10th Grade | $203/$243 | Sessions 4*, 6 | Ada Harris


Get in on some extreme fun! This camp includes activities like scaling rocks at Vertical Hold Climbing Gym, eyeing your targets at Lazertag, battling through the paintball course and testing your endurance at the USMC military obstacle course at Camp Pendleton. Scheduled activities vary from week to week and will be age appropriate.


FENCING


3rd - 7th Grade | $198/$238 Sessions 3, 8 | Ada Harris

YMCA’s fencing team! The YMCA and the Encinitas Fencing Academy have teamed up to bring a high- paced, fast action fencing camp. For 2 hours a day, learn the basics of fencing and dueling in a safe and instructional environment. Learn basic fencing techniques such as parry, aim, riposte, lunge hits and retreats. Gloves, swords, jackets and masks are all provided but campers must wear long pants and closed-toe shoes.

A $20 late fee will be applied to all registrations the Thursday before the camp begins.


FISHING


3rd - 7th Grade | $253/$303 | Sessions 2, 5, 6, 9 | Ada Harris


This camp is the catch of the summer! Our experienced fi shing staff will teach techniques, strategies and encourage campers while fi shing every day at 5 different locations. The week kicks off when Captain Joe leads the campers on a half-day trip aboard the Sea Star from Oceanside Harbor. He and his crew will offer instruction on deep-sea fi shing and introduce the campers to the exciting sport of saltwater fi shing! The rest of the week will be spent at other fi shing hotspots in the area in search of the biggest catch and the best techniques. Campers are encouraged to bring their own equipment; however, loaner equipment is available. No equipment is needed on Monday.
