SUMMER CAMP GUIDE 2012 HALF DAY – BUBBLES AND BALLOONS

Square bubbles and GIANT balloon creations will blow your mind! This fun combination of goofy activities will get your camper excited about camp. They will make new friends and learn all types of things as they play and create with bubbles and balloons.
HALF DAY – CHESS
1st-5th Grade | $110/$130 Hours 8:00 am - 12:00 pm Sessions 5 | Ada Harris
Strategize your best moves to make your summer a blast! This engaging and interactive camp will teach campers the strategies of chess, about each piece’s signifi cance and the overall objectives. Campers will have plenty of time to practice, participate in life-size human chess games and compete in a variety of chess challenges. Campers of all experience levels are welcome.
HALF DAY - GARDENING – NEW!
K – 3rd Grade | $110/$130 Hours 8:00 am - 12:00 pm Sessions 6 | Ada Harris
Come explore, create garden crafts, art and music, play games and form new friendships! Programs focus on hands-on exploration of the garden, songs, stories and opportunities for discovery. Your camper will participate in all phases of gardening practices. They will plant, tend and harvest vegetables, herbs and fl owers in a natural environment. Campers will learn to fertilize plants and control pests without the use of chemicals. Rainwater collection techniques, composting, mulching and propagation are parts of the process of gardening in a sustainable manner.
HALF DAY – INTRO TO SPORTS K – 2nd Grade | $110/$130 Hours 8:00 am - 12:00 pm Sessions 7 | Ada Harris
You are the Junior All Star in this camp! This camp is designed much like the YMCA’s Itty Bitty All Stars camp, but crammed into a half day. Young campers will be introduced to all active games and specifi c sports, learn basic skills and general game strategies. This is the perfect camp for active children who can’t decide which sport fi ts them best.
