SUMMER CAMP GUIDE 2012 KARATE

Start your journey to become a Black Belt! The YMCA’s Academy of Freestyle Martial Arts leader, Sensei Rivera, will teach beginning karate skills to campers in a fun, safe learning environment for two hours a day. Campers learn karate skills and drills and appropriate warm ups and stretching while gaining confidence, personal discipline and self-respect.
KAYAKING & SNORKELING - NEW!
4th – 8th Grade | $220/$265 | Session 6 | Ada Harris
Love to be outdoors and explore? Then this will be a blast! Spend the week kayaking through caves and along the beautiful San Diego coast. You will also get to see what is under the water when we visit snorkeling sites in La Jolla. No special equipment required.

3rd – 6th Grade | $220/$265 Session 7 | Ada Harris
Rev your engines and roll up your sleeves! This camp will give you hands on knowledge about motors, tires, tools and more. Study how different engines work and see them in motion. Take a real car apart and try to rebuild it.

LACROSSE – FOR BOYS
2nd – 5th Grade | $293/$353 Sessions 2, 10 | YMCA

TNT Lacrosse has designed this camp for players to learn and improve fundamental skills, knowledge of the game and basic game strategies. The Soccer Arenas will be taken over for the campers to have their own space for a day of scrimmages, skill stations and fun Lacrosse activities. Campers must bring a mouth guard and athletic supporter daily. All other equipment will be provided by TNT Lacrosse.
LASER TAG
2nd – 7th Grade | $253/$303 | Sessions 3, 4, 7, 8, 10 | Ada Harris
Enter ULTRAZONE the Ultimate Laser Adventure, San Diego’s only multi- level laser tag facility. Campers will be transported to a futuristic world with an exciting landscape of flashing lights and pulsing music where campers will suddenly appear out of the shadows. Campers use lasers and focus on a team objective of scoring points and capturing the opponents’ bases. Campers will play three games per day and participate in camp activities at a park or beach for the remainder of the day.
