Hilton Head Island, SC, Lodge members traveled to Veterans Victory House, a retire- ment home for veterans, and presented 50 veterans with Christmas gifts. Sherman, TX, Lodge members honored veterans Ted Nurree (World War II), John Elkins (Korean War), Steve Jones (Vietnam War), and Jim Brown (Gulf War) and also recognized active-duty US Army SPC Ronnie Lashley and gave each of them a plaque thanking them for their service to the country. Greensboro, NC, Lodge members visited the Salisbury–W. G. (Bill) Hefner VA Medical Center and treated 65 veterans to bingo games, with $500 in cash prizes plus a new watch as a grand prize. Lodge members also gave each veteran a gift bag containing toiletries and other small gifts and gave 35 more gift bags to the center to distribute to veterans.


Hickory, NC, Lodge held a Veterans Day Ceremony to honor the service and sacrifice of the nation’s armed forces. During the ceremony, which included patriotic presentations and musical performances, the lodge donated a new US flag to the City of Hickory to fly at the Soldier’s Plot in the city cemetery.


Wilmington, NC, Lodge members accompanied 12 veterans from the State Veteran Nursing Home on a tour of the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher and then treated the veterans to lunch at the lodge.


Eureka “Tintic,” UT, Lodge members honored Korean War veteran and Purple Heart recipient Max Garbett during a Veterans Day Dinner, which 125 veterans and family members attended. Pictured with Garbett (right) and his wife, Leah, is ER Robert Pagnani.
