New Mexico Elks Association and Texas Elks State Association held the Lindsey Calloway Toy Drive at the Roswell Convention Center and donated more than 2,000 toys and more than $5,000 to the Covenant Children’s Hospital. Van Wert, OH, Lodge donated $150 to the Van Wert High School swim team and $50 to the Van Wert Youth Bowling League.


Okmulgee, OK, Lodge donated the use of lodge facilities to the Okmulgee Junior Football Association, a football league for fourth- through sixth-grade students, for its 20th Anniversary Awards Dinner and treated the 185 guests to a meal.


In other news, the lodge, with the help of scouts from Boy Scout Troop No. 289, held a Flag-Retirement Ceremony and properly disposed of five worn and damaged US flags.


Watervliet, NY, Lodge held its annual Turkey Shoot fund-raiser, in which about 350 people participated, and raised more than $3,500 for the state major project, which supports the Cerebral Palsy Associations of New York State. the lodge’s Veterans Day Ceremony. Lodge members presented his family with the Elks Medal of Valor in his honor. Gunnery Sergeant Eckard was assigned to the 8th Engineer Support Battalion, 2nd Marine Logistics Group, II Marine Expeditionary Force when he was killed in Afghanistan on February 20, 2010.


Chillicothe, OH, Lodge donated nearly $3,000 to Rock for Tots, a charity concert that supports needy children in southern Ohio. The lodge also donated more than $2,500 each to the Elks National Foundation, the Good

Samaritan Food Pantry, and the state major project, which supports cerebral palsy treatment centers throughout the State of Ohio.


Columbus North, OH, Lodge members participated in a Bowling fund-raiser and raised $375 for Helping Hands, an organization that provides free medical services to needy people.


Nelsonville, OH, Lodge members honored US Air Force TSgt T. W. Churchill in a ceremony at a local golf course and treated him to a round of golf. Technical Sergeant Churchill had


Tulsa, OK, Lodge held a Style Show fund-raiser and collected $4,500 for the Little Light House, which assists children with special needs. The lodge also held a Bizarro Cartoon Comedy Show fund-raiser, which featured Bizarro cartoonist Dan Piraro, and raised $4,000, which was donated to the Animal Rescue Foundation, the Salvation Army, the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma, and Meals on Wheels of Metro Tulsa, which delivers food to people who cannot leave their homes. The lodge also held a High Tea fund-raiser and raised $2,700 for the Tulsa Autism Foundation. In related news, the lodge made donations of $750 to the John 3:16 Mission, which supports needy and homeless people; $500 to Iron Gate, a local food pantry; $450 to Blue Star Mothers, an organization of mothers of US troops that supports US troops and their families; $250 each to the Northeast Food Bank, Youth at Heart, which supports at-risk youth, and Neighbors Along the Line, which provides food and medical support to people in serious need; and $175 to the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund. In other news, the lodge donated the use of lodge facilities to the Tulsa Air National Guard Retiree Associa- tion, Grace Hospice, TulSACS (Singles Available for Community Service), and the local chapters of the Lions Club and Big Brothers Big Sisters for their regular meetings and other events.
