State College, PA, Lodge members attended a Court of Honor Ceremony for new Eagle Scout Marc Mesko, of Boy Scout Troop No. 380, and gave him a certificate and a US flag. For his Eagle Scout Project, Mesko built an enclosure for two recycling bins at the Stan Yoder Memorial Preserve in Boalsburg.

six young golfers ages 13 through 18 in the Central Counties Golf Associa- tion Junior Tournament.


Titusville, PA, Lodge PER Association held its third annual Cruise for Charity and Poker Run fund-raiser, in which 52 motorcycle riders took part, and raised more than $1,700 for Elks charities. The lodge also held a Golf Scramble fund-raiser, a Turkey Dinner fund-raiser, and several Sunday Brunch fund-raisers, which raised a total of $4,200 for the state major project, the PA Elks Home Service Program, which provides in- home therapy to children with special needs. Additionally, the lodge held a Chicken and Biscuit Dinner fund- raiser, which raised more than $300 for the Elks National Foundation, and donated an additional $900 to the Elks National Foundation.


Bristol County, RI, Lodge held a Turkey Roll fund-raiser, which more than 300 people attended, and raised more than $15,000 for the lodge’s Elks East Bay Cares Food Program, which provides holiday food baskets to needy area families.


Tri-City, RI, Lodge members gave 150 Thanksgiving meals to homeless people in Providence, RI.


Westerly, RI, Lodge members deliv- ered food baskets containing a gift card for a turkey and enough food for Thanksgiving and several more meals to 16 needy families.

Amarillo, TX, Lodge donated $500 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which fulfills the wishes of chronically and terminally ill children. Funds for the donation were raised at a Chili and BBQ Cook-Off fund-raiser.


Denison, TX, Lodge held a Toys for Tots Spaghetti Dinner, which collected more than 110 donated toys and nearly $400 in cash donations to provide toys to needy children at Christmas. The lodge also held a Bowling fund-raiser, which raised more than $1,600 for the lodge Christmas Basket Program, and a Dinner fund-raiser, which through dinner sales and an auction raised $300 to assist lodge member Mark Rowland in recovering from an illness. In other news, lodge members distributed 110 dictionaries to third- grade students and teachers at Pottsboro Elementary School. Lodge members also visited the Pottsboro Intermediate School and gave a presentation on the proper handling and history of the US flag to more than 100 students.


Houston, TX, Lodge held a Garage Sale fund-raiser and raised $375 for the state major project, Texas Elks Children’s Services.


Huntsville, TX, Lodge members attended the community Scare on the Square trick-or-treating event, gave candy and miniature basketballs to 45 trick-or-treaters, and staffed two basketball game booths.


Cookeville-Putnam County, TN, Lodge donated $200 to the Upper Cumberland Child Advocacy Center.


Jackson, TN, Lodge donated more than $4,800 to the Enlisted Associa- tion of the National Guard of Tennes- see for its Auxiliary Family Relief Fund, which assists the families of deployed national guard members. Funds for the donation were raised at a series of fund-raisers, including a Silent Auction and a Car, Truck, and Bike Show.


Johnson City, TN, Lodge held its annual Shoe Party and treated each of more than 100 children to a new pair of socks and shoes.


Erie, PA, Lodge donated $500 to Therapy Dogs United to support its Tutors with Tails Program, which employs therapy dogs to help at-risk youth learn to read. Funds for donation were raised at

St. Albans, VT, Lodge members attended a Salute to the Veterans Parade put on by the Green Mountain Council of the Boy Scouts of America and served chips, beverages, and more than 800 hot dogs to the scouts and their families.
