Woodbridge, VA, Lodge held its annual Senior Citizens Thanksgiving Luncheon and treated 70 senior citizens to a Thanksgiving lunch and live musical entertainment.
Puyallup, WA, Lodge held a Holiday Party and Dinner for 90 soldiers of the US Army Reserve 301st Maneuver Enhancement Brigade and 160 family members. Partygoers were treated to dinner, during which the soldiers and their families had a silent auction of the children’s artwork. The children in attendance were treated to supervised games and crafts.
Everett, WA, Lodge members, with the help of a $1,000 ENF Gratitude Grant, distributed dictionaries to more than 500 third-grade students at Everett Public Schools. the help of the Virginia Elks Associa- tion Safety Glasses Program, gave a
Tacoma, WA, Lodge members paid tribute to US Army SPC Joseph T. Caron and gave the Elks Medal of Valor to his family during a Veterans Day Ceremony at the lodge. Specialist Caron was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division when he died in Afghanistan on April 11, 2010. In other news, lodge bocce ball players donated ten pounds of home- made Italian sausage to the lodge for fund-raising breakfasts that raise money for the Elks National Founda- tion and other charities.
