Buena Park, CA, Lodge members treated nearly 150 veterans and family members to dinner at the lodge.


Downey, CA, Lodge held a solemn ceremony, which 40 people attended, to honor the service of US veterans.


Garden Grove, CA, and Thousand Oaks, CA, Lodge members volun- teered to assist in a demonstration of American Civil War–era guns, supplies, and other artifacts during a Veterans Day Ceremony at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library.


Huntington Beach, CA, Lodge mem- bers, with the help of cadets from the Robert A. Millikan High School JROTC Program, visited the Long Beach VA medical facility and treated 300 veterans to lunch.


In other news, the lodge donated 12 Christmas trees to the Villages at Cabrillo, a VA transitional housing facility for homeless veterans.


Mission Viejo-Saddleback Valley, CA, Lodge, with the help of scouts from lodge-sponsored Boy Scout Troop No. 603, held a solemn ceremony to honor the sacrifices and service of US veterans and active-duty personnel.


Mission Viejo-Saddleback Valley, CA, and Santa Ana, CA, Lodge members visited the Long Beach VA medical facility and treated 55 veterans to bingo games, snacks, and beverages. Mission Viejo-Saddleback Valley Lodge members also gave 25 handmade lap blankets, 120 cookies, reading material, and toiletry items to veterans, including veterans who were being treated at the facility’s Spinal Injury Unit and were unable to attend the bingo session.


Modesto, CA, Lodge held a Veterans Night to honor the service of US veterans. More than 300 people attended the dinner, including nearly 130 veterans, who ate free of charge.


North Central District, CA, lodges donated a $12,000, eight-passenger electric golf cart to the Sacramento VA Medical Center.

Eureka, CA, Lodge members, along with representatives of aviation and military history organizations from California and Oregon, honored WW II veterans US Navy CAPT Lee Whitehead (Ret.) and US Air Force Maj Richard Daniels (Ret.) in a surprise ceremony, which 95 people attended, at the lodge. Victorville, CA, Lodge members visited the Veterans Home of California–Barstow and performed Christmas carols for about 160 veterans who were eating lunch. Lodge members, with the help of Santa, gave boxes of chocolate to the veterans in the audience and donated a number of other items, including a video camera, $750 worth of gift cards, and a large number of books, decks of cards, recorded movies, board games, and puzzles, to the home for use by the residents. Northeast District, CA, lodge mem- bers visited the Reno, NV, VA medical facility and treated more than 100 veterans and staff members to lunch.


Palmdale, CA, Lodge members, with the help of scouts from lodge-spon- sored Boy Scout Troop No. 444,


treated about 60 veterans from the Sepulveda VA medical facility to lunch at the lodge.


Quincy, CA, Lodge members treated 17 veterans and eight widows of veterans to a Thanksgiving dinner at the lodge.
