Tucson East, AZ, Lodge members presented the Elks Medal of Valor to the families of US Army CPT Gilbert A. Munoz, US Army 1LT Thomas J. Brown, and Arizona Army National Guard SSG Darrel D. Kasson. Captain Munoz, who was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 7th Special Forces Group, died February 15, 2005. Lieutenant Brown, who was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 6th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, died September 23, 2008. Staff Sergeant Kasson, who was assigned to the 259th Engineer Company of the Arizona National Guard, died March 4, 2007. Pictured are Gilbert and Mary Munoz, the parents of Captain Munoz.
Redwood City, CA, Lodge held a Golf Tournament fund-raiser and raised $600 for the state major project, which provides in-home therapy to children with special needs.
San Fernando, CA, Lodge, with the help of young volunteers from local high schools and Mission College, held a Thanksgiving Day Dinner for the Needy and treated nearly 1,900 local people to dinner at the lodge.
Santa Maria, CA, Lodge members distributed more than 130 Thanksgiv- ing gift baskets to needy families.
Temecula Valley, CA, Lodge held a Goal Buster Club fund-raiser and raised more than $700 for the Elks National Foundation.
Thousand Oaks, CA, Lodge members presented 16-year-old Abby Sunder- land, who is the youngest person ever to attempt the circumnavigation of the world solo, with the 2010 Spirit of America Award during a dinner that was held in her honor at the lodge.

Atascadero, CA, Lodge members distributed dictionaries to more than 410 third-grade students at local elementary schools. Jonesboro, AR, Lodge held a Christmas Party at the Jonesboro Human Development Center for more than 110 residents of the center, which assists children and adults with developmental disabili- ties, and treated the partygoers to snacks, wrapped gifts, and a visit with Santa. In other news, the lodge held a Taste of New Orleans Dinner and Dance fund-raiser and through dinner sales, a raffle, and art sales raised more than $800 for the Elks National Foundation.
