Arizona Elks Association held its an- nual Soccer Shoot,
in which 32 boys and
girls ages 13 and younger competed. First- place winners received trophies and soccer balls, and second- and third-place winners received trophies. Following the competi- tion, all contestants and their families, 225 guests in all, were treated to lunch. Chino Valley, AZ, Lodge donated $500 to the Chino Valley Foundation for Seniors to help provide free lunches to needy seniors attending the organiza- tion’s regular Friday lunches.
Kingman, AZ, Lodge members, with the help of middle school students and teachers from the Kingman Academy of Learning School, prepared and shipped 50 care packages containing Christmas cards, letters of thanks, and donated items to US troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.

garten through sixth grade. During the visit, lodge members gave a dictionary and a Pledge of Allegiance guidebook to each of the 61 third- grade students.
In other news, the lodge held a Public Safety Appreciation event, which 175 people attended, and honored the members of nine city, county, state, and federal law enforce- ment agencies.
In more news, the lodge held a Children’s Halloween Party for local children. During the party, the children, about 30 in all, were finger- printed by law enforcement officials.
Raceway, AZ, Lodge members honored Agua Fria High School students Lindsey Garret and Michael Wenz, Millennium High School students Zachary Christopher, Jason Heckendorn, and Jacqueline Sanchez, and home-schooled high school student Kaitlyn Elkinton as their Students of the Year and awarded them each a $100 scholarship. The lodge also presented a $1,000 Arizona Elks Association scholarship to each of four students, Wenz, Garrett, Hecken- dorn, and Christopher.
Sedona, AZ, Lodge members treated 250 participants in a Relay for Life 24- hour walkathon fund-raiser, which raised money for the American Cancer Society, to a meal.
In other news, the lodge held its 24th annual Thanksgiving Day Community Dinner and treated about 800 local people to a meal.
Yuma, AZ, Lodge donated $3,900 to the two state major projects, the Arizona Elks Youth Camp and the Steele Children’s Research Center, which searches for cures and treat- ments for childhood diseases.
Mountain Home, AR, Lodge donated $1,200 to the Baxter Bulletin Christ- mas Wish Program, which provides gifts to needy children.
North Little Rock, AR, Lodge mem- bers attended a Sending-Off Ceremony for 58 members of the Arkansas National Guard Agricultural Develop- ment Team to wish them well during their deployment in Afghanistan.
