Elks Care— Elks Share


Bessemer, AL, Lodge members distributed fruit baskets to more than 100 elderly, disabled, needy, and shut- in people.


In other news, lodge members treated more than 100 police officers, firefighters, and other city employees to breakfast at the lodge.


Calera, AL, Lodge held a Fall Fun Day for 30 children from the community and treated partygoers to food, games, prizes, a hayride, and entertainment by costumed characters. In other news, lodge members distributed 200 dictionaries to third- grade students at Elvin Hill Elemen- tary School and Shelby Elementary School and fifth-grade students at Calera Middle School.


In more news, the lodge held a Womanless Beauty Pageant fund- raiser and raised more than $400 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.


Decatur, AL, Lodge members and ladies auxiliary members distributed more than 3,000 dictionaries to third- grade students in Morgan, Lawrence, and Limestone Counties.


Fairbanks, AK, Lodge held a Special Olympics Halloween Party and treated about 120 Special Olympians, family members, and friends to dinner and dancing.

Buckeye, AZ, Lodge members, with the help of the Sun City Festival Women’s Group, prepared and shipped 48 boxes containing snacks, toiletries, clothing, movies, games, and letters of thanks to two US military units stationed in Afghanistan.


Casas Adobes, AZ, Lodge held a Steak Dinner to honor local fire-


fighters and presented the honorees with a handmade clock. A total of 65 people attended the event. In other news, lodge members distributed 25 holiday food baskets to needy families.
